our passion, your health
Windsong Massage & Therapies opened its doors in New Albany to provide their clients and community of new friends with a one-of-a-kind, personalized wellness experience.
Business owners and friends, Joy and Peace, first met practicing massage together at Gentle Wind of Gahanna. Both women have always believed in the power of holistically treating one's body, mind and spirit and have taken this approach for a combined 35+ years. Hearing the news that Gentle Wind would close, Joy and Peace looked for a way to continue their passion for improving clients' health and wellness and decided to launch their own business.
Windsong Founders
Joy Lawrence, Licensed Massage Therapist, Registered Yoga Instructor
For Windsong co-founder Joy Lawrence, practicing massage and yoga has always been about more than just providing clients with a relaxing experience. In addition to creating a sense of release for clients, she believes in the techniques' ability to work through and treat underlying emotional or mental health issues that often are the cause of physical pain.
Joy first received her license for massage therapy in Swedish massage from the Central Ohio School of Massage. Having practiced massage therapy for more than 14 years now, she has constantly continued her education, developing an extensive background in a range of wellness treatments. Joy has a unique ability to tap into the emotional health of a client, and treat it holistically with her unique style of blending massage techniques to create harmony and balance in the body.
Joy's specializations include: Polarity Therapy, Ayurvedic massage treatments, deep Swedish massage, hot stone massage and yoga.
Peace (Kristy), Licensed Massage Therapist, Trained Spiritual Guide
The other half to Windsong's founding team is licensed massage therapist and spiritual guide Peace. Having decided two years ago to go by the name "Peace," she is daily reminded to walk a calmer, more loving path in life, while helping others do the same.
Peace's journey of holistic healing dates back to her childhood during which time her mother taught the importance of balancing body, mind and spirit. Over the years, Peace has taken her own path to wellness that incorporates the techniques of massage, aromatherapy and psychic healing. She embraces her intuitive and psychic gifts for targeting sources of emotional pain and issues that lay hidden in our bodies, hindering our life's progress. For (over) 20 years, she has helped individuals become aware of what is holding them back, so they can contribute to their own healing process. Throughout it all, Peace provides clients with a holistic wellness experience that respects their personal comfort levels and current capacity to deal with issues.
Peace's specializations include: deep Swedish massage interspersed with other modalities such as trigger-point therapy, Chi Nei Tsang and sports massage.
Our Team
Cheryl Jones, Licensed Massage Therapist
Cheryl Jones has been practicing massage since 2002. Her training in basic Swedish massage, myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, Reiki and hot stone massage gives her a variety of techniques to help you relax, de-stress and heal.
With her specialties of firm pressure massage, trigger point therapy and myofascial release, Cheryl looks at each person as a jigsaw puzzle with a couple of pieces in the wrong places. Her joy comes in finding those pieces and realigning them.
Sunny James, Reflexologist
Sunny was raised in a home where natural methods of health and healing were supported and used consistently. So when she developed severe health problems as an adult, for which allopathic medicine offered no hope, she returned to her roots and began researching natural healing. Sunny found that if we remove the toxins and things that keep our bodies from functioning properly, our bodies are quite capable of healing themselves. She is now free of the arthritis, cancer, and other health problems doctors said she would never overcome. One of the additions to Sunny's healing "puzzle" is Reflexology. "It was that extra thing that stimulated my circulation and energy to really boost my body's ability to heal. After practicing on myself and my husband for several years, I decided to leave the corporate world and make Reflexology my work – I love it!"
